organic farming

Why Organic farming is important.

We use 100% Organic whole food ingredients in our products. Natural, organic & wholesome for you and for the planet. Here's why we feel it so important to support Organic Farming.

We believe that Organic natural farming is essential for the environment. Most of our products are also Soil Association approved, which means that the ingredients we use are certified as coming from organic farming.

The way we farm and eat can make a world of difference. Organic is an 'agroecological' farming system that offers many benefits, it is better for wildlife and people and the planet.

Organic farmers respect nature. They do not use artificial chemical fertilisers, which helps maintain a healthy soil and increases the carbon level, because the soil is nourished with compost, nitrogen-fixing crops, and crop rotations. As a result, organic farmland stores more carbon – on average 3.5 tonnes extra for every hectare, and organic soils are around 25% more effective at storing carbon in the long-term.

Crazy fact: Soil is one of our most important tools in the fight against climate change – there are 2,500 billion tonnes of carbon stored in the world’s soils! That’s more than in the plants, trees and the atmosphere combined. (Source: Soil Association)

A lot of products on the shelves have organic claims, but this does not mean they are 100% organic and many are not certified as being so.

A sad fact is that 41% of Britain’s wildlife species have declined since 1970 and 1 in 10 are facing extinction. Pesticides and intensive farming are the main causes. This is the main reason why Organic farmers do not use pesticides or if they do it is under restricted circumstances.

Organic farming is more expensive, but such farms are also great homes for bees, birds and butterflies. On average insect, plant and bird life is 50% higher on organic farms and there is an amazing 75% more wild bees present.

At Raw Gorilla we have run the extra mile - our breakfasts & munchies are Vegan Society and Soil Association Organic Certified to guarantee you quality. We are proud to support Organic farming.

It is not only good for the planet but it is also good for our bodies! No chemicals and high quality farming ingredients- which means there are not the chemicals and toxins.
