Chocolate Frosted Black Bean Brownies

We do love chocolate. Chocolate is good for you. What’s better? Raw cacao. It is one of the richest source of antioxidants on the planet and it has mood boosting properties. So the best way to celebrate this superfood is to sneak in our desserts as much as possible.

The talented girls from Dower & Hollingsworth created this Chocolate Frosted Brownies which are just to die for. For extra nourishment and crunch they topped these ooey gooey squares with our Raw Cacao Crispies! Clever girls 😉

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups black beans
3 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup oats
1/4 tsp Himalayan sea salt
1/2 cup cacao powder
2 tbsp ground flax seeds
1/2 cup almond milk
2/3 cup dates
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Frosting:

4 tbsp coconut cream
1 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp peanut butter

Instructions:

Simply add all the ingredients for the brownies into a food processor and whizz for a couple of minutes until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans and spoon into a greased baking tin. Bake at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes – they might still seem quite gooey in the middle but they will continue cooking for a while so trust us on this one! Leave them to cool completely whilst you are making the frosting.

To make the frosting, simply combine the ingredients in a bowl and stir well until smooth and creamy. Spread it over your brownies and sprinkle the top with Raw Gorilla Raw Cacao Crispies! Tuck in!
